Okay, okay…I know last year I said that my first book was written and I was going to edit it and attempt to get it published. Well, I did somewhat edit it. I gave it to four friends to read. These were friends that I was sure would give me an honest opinion. They all loved it! I was told that they couldn’t put it down and it was good enough to be published! The only negative I got was the ending was kind of…well…dull. I agreed and didn’t really like the ending myself. Soooo…I totally changed how I ended the book and even wrote an entire new part at the end. Today, it’s Thanksgiving, I have been working on finishing the novel. It’s finally done…for real this time! I’m very happy with the ending.

The novel is now 241 Microsoft pages with 131,409 words! That should come out to about 500 pages, at least, when it’s transferred to a normal sized book. Now I really need to do some editing in both the grammar department and the story line part. Then I will do the search for an agent. I’ve been reading different comments when it comes to traditional publishing versus self publishing. From what I’ve been reading, self publishing takes a lot of time and work. I’d rather pay someone else to do all that for me…even it means they take a cut of my sales. I’m going to try traditional publishing first. If it doesn’t work out then I will try to self publishing. So many decisions!

I also need to figure out a cover for the book. I think I may ask my cousin Kimbra, who is an excellent artist, if she’d be willing to draw me up something if need be. I have an idea of what I’d like to title the book and what I want the cover to look like. This is all so very exciting!
